Cool as a cucumber this summer vented jacket does exactly what you would hope making summer riding in souring temperatures an absolute joy, and it looks pretty awesome too!

Super Cool Jacket

Initial Thoughts

The first thought I had when this jacket arrived was just how great looking it is. Its single coloured but the vented textile material adds all the detail it needs. It's cut nicely and is lovely and comfortable to wear with all the armour sitting in exactly the right place.

When testing this jacket I was extremely impressed with how well its design allowed me to control my temperature. As I had hoped when travelling across the countryside when it was windy the jacket successfully shielded me from getting too cold and when travelling through a city or town or finding myself and standstill the ventilation really did keep me wonderfully cool a luxury you don't get with other textiles and leathers.

One small niggle was that there is no way of fastening the jacket to trousers, there is however a popper which flaps down which I suspect would clip to some trousers but not the ones which I had, the only other improvement which I could suggest would be if some sort of thin waterproof overcoat were provided built into the jacket just in case you did get caught in a down pour as happens so often in this country.

Vented suits are usually perceived as a luxury in the UK, but once you have tried one and experienced that lovely cool airflow on a hot summer day your perception will I believe change!

Construction

The Sierra jacket has full mesh front, back and underarm panels. It fastens with a zip and popper as do the wrists. It has a fixed mesh lining and is fitted with Knox CE shoulder and elbow protectors with a perforated foam back pad so the back pads presence does not retract from the ventilation.

The Jacket is made from 3m Scotchlite Reflective Fibre Tech material so you will be easily seen by other road users when visibility is poor.

It has 2 inside pockets fastened with Velcro one smaller than the other for a mobile phone and 2 side pockets too which zip close. The Aero jacket is currently available in 2 colours and 7 sizes.

- Covers Flexi-Form ® (CE certified) to the shoulders and elbows,
- Back protector optional.
- Abrasion resistant ® FibreTech for added protection.

- Optimal ventilation - Mesh outer,

- Fixed net lining,

- Press stud closure on both neck and wrists,
- Large outside pockets + Interior pockets for phone,

- Reflective Material.

An additional 100% waterproof over jacket,
ideal for those summer showers is also available.

Exclusive colour: Anthracite / Beige

Conclusion

This is a lovely summer jacket which I will wear both on and off the bike as its cut beautifully. Its absolutely ideal for those hot summer riding days. Wearing this will stop you becoming all hot and sticky even when stationary.

I love this jacket. I only have tiny niggles about it being unable to attach to trousers. Vented suits are becoming more and more popular, and this is a really stylish example. I would love to see a matching pair of trousers available in the colour of the jacket, together they would look awesome.
