All purpose touring boot that is waterproff and comfortable on and off the bike - made with typical weise quality

Short Caption

Initial Thoughts

The Lock boot from weise is a unisex mid range touring boot, it’s a no frills all purpose boot designed for comfortable riding in all weathers. They look like any standard boot but have reflective piping and panel at the back for night time visibly which is a nice safety feature, getting them out of the box gives you a sense of the build quality with them being solid feeling all the way around with additional thickness around the areas that matter they are built for purpose and I think they should do quite nicely.

Construction

I tested the Weise Lock Boot over a longer period then usual to try and make sure I could test all the features and break them in fully prior to giving feedback, they are extremely comfortable on or off the bike and I tried them out by wearing them to a rally and a show which was perfectly ok - usually with sport boots you do get a certain degree of restriction or at the very least realise you are shoehorned in to them, in the rain the Lock Boots were excellent, I have tried them out in a few downpours and I can safely say I had nice dry feet when I took them off. One other nice feature of the Weise boots is that I didn’t sweat in them which can happen with waterproof gear where breathability becomes an issue, the reinforced area for the gear shift worked well letting me change gear easily and combined with the decent solethe boots still gave good feedback.

I do have a few niggles with these boots though , firstly they felt loose around the thigh and no matter how I tried I could not get then a snug fit, I am not particularly thin and perhaps Weise could give a little more adjustability down - a small niggle though as I know other boots can be similar if worn under trousers rather than tucked. Secondly the small Velcro straps didnt work very well after a weeks of everyday use and started coming undone by themselves, they did get fairly intensive use though and your mileage may vary.

Conclusion

Overall these are a good boot and are very comfortable and for the price of £70 good value for money especially when put into context with other brands offerings that do the same thing.

Apart from the Velcro issue I have not other complaints with quality and generally they feel solid throughout with no seams showing signs of letting go as as a result in the torrent of weather that is the UK they keep you dry, protect your feet and you can walk about in them when you got to your destination.
