Knox yet again show why they are the most popular armor manufactuer with the handy, lighweight, stashable Knox Kompakt back protector

Roll up Armour

Initial Thoughts

When I first tried this I was amazed how small it was rolled up to only 33cm long by 15cm diameter' it comes in its own bag for when its not in use it’s also one of the lightest in the range weighing only 500g , the knox kompakt itself has a sponge type finish not hard plastic like a lot I’ve seen and is in cubes making it flex easy both ways so its very free in movement .
Once you have the straps to your liking it very comfortable to ride with it actually made me feel secure , the inner lining is breathable so as long as you wear the right top it wont make you sweat as a true testament to the overall design of this knox armor - I never liked wearing dedicated back protectors until no.

Construction

As the other reviewers have found with their Knox back protector reviews the product is certainly well thought out, with straps that can be worn criss crossed for additional comfort - especially for lady riders. Another good idea I found was the Velcro was extremely fine so it didn’t want to stick to everything like Velcro normally does, the only issue I found was it seemed a little long so when walking it got caught on the lip on my trousers but this maybe because I might have got the wrong size but to ensure the perfect fit for you there’s an online size chart you print out and to measure your back, knox go the extra mile to make sure you get the right size and as a result wear the product more often.

all in all I found it extremely comfortable and very good value for money for the peace of mind that it brings

Conclusion

Overall its a well designed back protector that does its job with a difference, its extremely comfortable to wear due to it soft construction and is practical to use everyday as it packs up small and great value for money.

I had always thought of back protectors to really only be used for sports riders and trackday's and until now have been quite content with the inbuilt protection supplied with most jackets - no longer though.

My Knox Kompakt back protector is staying firmly on my back, offering peace of mind and protection.
