Spyke Motika GP Jacket recommendedSpyke Motika GP Jacket

We Said: The Motika GP is an incredibly good looking, well made and thought out jacket from a manufacturer that is known for its style, looking at the price it would seem to be towards the higher end of the market and you would be right because you get a jacket that earns every single pound (or dollar, euro etc) you spend on it. I have no doubt that the Motika GP would perform excellently in a crash just from how well padded and stitched the jacket is, as an example the stretch panels have a real spring to them that you often find let go quickly in cheaper gear but this keeps you held in tightly and in the event you are wearing aftermarket armour stops it from slipping around.

If you are looking for a jacket but are bored by the offerings from the big manufacturers you should go and seek out some Spyke gear to try, you might just be converted like me

Spada ST1 Boots Recommended

Spada ST1 Boots

We Said:
Put simply what you have here is a much more expensive boot that its price tag would have you believe - it is not the worlds most breathable touring boot but it does a good enough job to keep you comfortable even on hot days.

The waterproofing worked well even at high motorway speeds and I got the feeling it was seeping in which ticks the right box for touring, comfort was good overall when taking foot width into consideration but for me was a touch narrow.

Taking a look at the big picture this is comparable with a lot of higher end touring boots but for a budget price and with that in mind it gets Bikechatter Recommended

TCX X-Cube Boots recommended

TCX X-Cube Boots

We Said: Love them! I would like to leave the review there but I am not allowed so...

Construction dropped a point because they are not really all that breathable, when your feet get hot you know about it and they can be a touch sticky on hot days, in terms of protection they have ankle padding and support but I doubt they would hold up to a massive accident.

That said they suit their purpose perfectly and blend in as a casual pair of trainers so in terms of styling they come up trumps, fit is perfect and they are supremely comfortable.

Top marks in editors rating from me as everything considered they are the perfect all use/casual boot.
