Vibrant and well made 2 piece leather suit from Hein Gericke, exactly the quality we have come to expect from the German manufacturer.

German built quality - stunning design

Initial thoughts

What a lovely looking set of leathers! I dont know of anyone who has seen this set that doesn't like them which is true testament to the design that has gone into them. A very solid feeling set I was concerned that they would not supple up satisfactorily but I couldn't wait to find out.

Sizing

Ok let me point out here that I am female and so the sizing cut of leathers is usually a little bit out-even in the ladies section, the Celtic was a bit of an exception as it appears to actually be cut right for a womans figure, in fact I would go as far as to say it is rather complimentary on the figure. It hugs in all the right places to ensure confidence and also allows a decent amount of movement in order to remain comfortable.

Construction and Safety

Fully CE armoured as you would expect from a reputable manufacturer, the Celtic is also very well made from 1.2/1.3mm leather and double safety stitched along safety seams. to allow movement the suit comes with stretch Cordura panels along the back of the knees and the thigh area.

Comfort wise it actually bedded in very quickly considering how unsupple it felt on arrival, before too long I was able to wear it for general riding without noticing it was on or it causing any restriction inmovement. As it is the 2 piece variation on the set (1 piece shown) itcomes with ample amounts of pockets for day to day use - something that is often overlooked in 2 piece leathers design, the suit zips togetherwith a full sized zip, offering yet more security.

Conclusion

It is hard to fault these leathers from Hein Gericke, they ooze quality in both the design and feel and are massively comfortable - partly because someone at HG has taken notice of womens sizing and made these appropriately shaped.

It offers a pretty much standard level of protection that anyone would look for in their leathers and although I have never crashed in these I have no doubt that they would deal with it all quite well.
