The Gemma Waterproof Glove is an all weather performance glove designed for general road use. Its a really good looking ladies fit glove which is available in 3 different colours.

I have had a number of problematic pairs of gloves over the years, and have struggled to find a pair I am truly happy with – could Weise have the answer in their Gemma glove? The pair of gloves reviewed are the white and black variant, they are also available in plain black and black and pink. I am immediately struck by how lightweight and flexible they are in comparison to other pairs of gloves I have reviewed, and just what a strikingly nice looking pair of gloves they actually are, in fact I chose these from the delivery bin over a much more expensive pair by a well known brand.

Construction

The Gemma Waterproof glove is constructed from full grain leather and nylon, the palms are constructed of supple soft leather with added leather protection either side of the glove and the back of the glove is primarily nylon with and a small extra leather pad on the middle, ring and little finger tip for impact protection. This pair of Gloves has a Hipora® Waterproof, windproof and breathable inner liner and also a Tri-fleece inner lining so your hands are kept lovely and toasty even at high speeds, while the Gemma Gloves from Weise do not have any active ventilation the combination of the breathable liner and Nylon outer does seem to stop your hands getting uncomfortably hot.

On first wearing them my opinion was the fit is absolutely excellent, they were extremely comfortable because of the lack of a full leather construction so there was no need to mess around to break them in which is always a nice bonus, sometimes it can take a few rides to really feel the overall fit and finish of a motorcycle product but this is not the case with the Gemma gloves. Add to that, they are finished well inside and out so there are no irritating bits that rub which I have found with other gloves I have worn, usually this occurs around external armour stitching or fingertip seams.

Features

  • Padded rubber inserts to knuckles and fingers

  • Elasticated wrist

  • Velcro adjuster at cuff

  • Twin layered leather to impact points

  • Stretch panels to top of hand to aid fit and flexibility

Warm, dry, cool and perfect for english weather

A lovely looking lightweight glove at a very reasonable price. Although there are some cheaper ladies gloves out there I can say from experience you usually get what you pay for with this type of glove. The level of comfort these give when riding is well worth the tiny amount of extra money and I would pay it happily.

The only slight concern I have with these gloves is that although they have some padded rubber protection on knuckles and finger tips I wonder how much actual impact protection they would give you in a crash situation compared to some other gloves currently on the market, but for my intended use they are fine.

These are classed as all season gloves and for warmer weather the ventilation is adequate as long as it is not HOT. perfect for most UK weather conditions though
