R&G Racing Gloves - Review
Sporty looking leather summer gloves from protection specialists R&G that offer exceptional value for money.
Initial Thoughts
I was reluctant to review these at first as I ride a Triumph Bonneville in black with all black gear - the green white and silver armour on the gloves suggested I would look a bit of a muppet in them but the more I wore them the less I cared. It is worth pointing out here that the gloves are available in a range of colours, its just that mine turned up green for some reason - no matter really...
Construction
The R&G leather motorcycle gloves are excellent summer gloves, with smooth black and white palms and a softer area running up the side of the thumbs they offer surprisingly good grip around the throttle, the underside of the fingers are ultra smooth which helps release the clutch and brake levers which in turn provides sensitivity and feedback through the bars and a great feel from your bike. The gloves boast ample armour, not only across the knuckles with the obligatory Carbon Kevlar on the knuckles but also across the fingers which is something I am not used to seeing but actually really like.
Other protection across the glove is in the form of thicker leather patches throughout in high risk areas, being all leather I expected them to be a nightmare in the wet but I tried them on various rainy days and felt no water coming through at all, they are not classed as an all weather glove but I would say they handle the types of showers we expect during summer admirably. The only real fault I can find to mention is relating to the long wrists on the gloves, if like me you do not have zipped sleeves on your jacket (such as my trusty Belstaff) they can be a big of a hassle to put on being long and chunky across the wrist, the upside to this however is that you get the wrist protection missing from a short glove so you take your choice.
R&G Say..
These R&G blue leather gloves are made from quality leather and include suede inner hand patches for extra grip, elasticated wrists with adjustable velcro strap for optimum comfort fitting and carbon kevlar padding on the fingers and knuckles for extra protection.
Also available in green or red and a deluxe version in black.

Conclusion
Nice overall gloves that offer excellent levels of protection for the price, construction was as good as I would have hoped although the styling could be a touch more modern without looking as tarty I think.
All in all though for the price you cant go far wrong with them.
