Race Gloves
Initial Thoughts
These were my first bits of Spada kit on test and right off the bat I have to say I was impressed, in direct comparison with other gloves we have reviewed or under review currently these ooze quality from every angle, the leather is soft and supple, the thickness is just right without being too thin that you worry about its longevity or so thick you lose feel from the bars they are pretty much the exact fit and feel I want in a glove. One thing you sometimes see in full length race gloves is a thick wrist band that makes fastening your jacket cuffs a tight affair but here again the Vortex impresses by being just right!
Construction
Made from your typical full leather the Vortex employs a number of nifty features to keep you cool, safe and comfortable in the perfect balance, on the knuckles you have a moulded TPU slider/armour system that also incorporates a ram-air vent to deliver a little cooling at pace, on each finger side there are punch holes for the exact same reason along with perforations in key locations across the majority of the glove. The fingers are constructed again with TPU sliders but also stretch panels to bring the comfort factor right up from the first time to put these on, other gloves I have tested have needed a little breaking in but as these arrived just in the nick of time before the test began I was pleasantly surprised with just how nice they were out of the bag.
In terms of ventilation and overall comfort the Spada Vortex Gloves have been thoroughly tested in the rain, the baking heat and generally cool and blustery weather, at no point did my hands feel either too cold or too hot which is score 1 for the Vortex, it seems the ventilation research has worked nicely. I have seriously struggled to find a flaw in these gloves during the entire test and perhaps the only thing I could say againt them is that the lighter brown palm leather discolours quite quickly, seiously though I had to think hard to even come up with that!
My opinion is that the big manufacturers need to really look at the quality of their products in comparison to these Vortex gloves, you can pay a hell of a lot more of your hard earned cash for a vastly poorer quality product!

Conclusion
Yet another full 5 stars for a Spada product proving you do not need a massive budget to make superb motorcycle clothing.
The Vortex Glove is supremely comfortable in all weathers and even when the mercury went up to 25 degrees they stayed at a nice temperature, the lining is silky smooth and all over the glove reassures you with its high quality construction - try comparing these to bigger brands more expensive gloves and you will see the cutting and stitching is superb.
I love these gloves, and am quite happy that I have a set to keep wearing rain or shine - give the Vortex a go!
