The name is DIAVEL - The innovative new Ducati to be unveiled at the Milan show After months of speculation and spy photography the long wait is almost over, the Diavel will make its first public appearance at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan 2-7 November. Officially announcing the new model’s name ahead of the official presentation, the famous Italian manufacturer is about to turn another dream into reality, using the local Bolognese dialect word for “devil” in naming their new model Diavel – pronounced Dee-ah-vel.
Ducati UK visit this week’s London Motorcycle Show with its mouth watering collection of 2011 models. Heading the collection is undoubtedly the new Diavel making its London show debut shortly before its international launch. The Diavel with its commanding presence, stunning looks and latest in Ducati technology including ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Riding Modes and a Superbike-derived Testastretta 11° engine will be the main draw for many visitors to the show.
Ducati and Mercedes AMG have proudly announced that the first public showing of the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition will be at the 64th International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany from 15-25 September. The 2012 flagship model of the Diavel family is a tribute to the AMG luxury-sport brand and is intended for passionate connoisseurs of technology, engineering detail and exclusive style. Ducati’s unique cooperation with Mercedes AMG was first announced at the 2010 Los Angeles Motor Show with a sponsorship agreement for the Ducati MotoGP Team which perfectly demonstrated the shared brand values of high performance, motorsport and excitement.

Ducati UK start 2012 on the back of a record breaking 2011 which not only saw significant increases in sales but also ‘best ever’ figures across the board. Ducati UK closed 2011 with its best sales result since 2003 with 2345 units sold and in a challenging economic environment recorded best ever market share figures in the UK. On the back of these results it also became the fastest growing Motorcycle brand in the UK with motorcycle sales up 15.3%.

The first trip, ‘The Multistrada getaway to Bologna’ will provide eight guests with the opportunity to experience riding across France and Italy on a five day trip to Bologna. The trip is exclusively for Ducati Multistrada owners, however for non-Multistrada owners there will be a limited number of these bikes to hire for those wanting the ultimate test ride experience on the ultimate touring motorcycle. The journey will start with breakfast at the prestigious British Racing Drivers Club, Silverstone and finish at the Ducati factory in Bologna for a tour and lunch.  The route includes the stunning Route Napoleon and finishes with the famous Futa Pass.
Öhlins Racing continues their long and prosperous relationship with Ducati by offering a specially developed fully adjustable shock absorber for the new revolutionary ‘Diavel’. To coincide with this new product, Öhlins Racing UK will be in attendance at the Ducati Days event at Silverstone and offering an awesome WSB prize to meet series leader, Ducati Althea’s Carlos Checa. The exciting new Ducati Diavel has turned the world of motorcycling on its head, delivering the performance of a superbike with the attitude and street presence of a cruiser.

Ducati dealers throughout the UK will be opening their doors for a special Ducati Demo weekend to launch the 2011 Model Year Range. The date has been set for March 5th and 6th for the Ducati dealer network to display and demonstrate the latest array of bikes from the Bolognese factory. Dealers will have on show many of the new models including the hugely anticipated Diavel. The Diavel heads an impressive 2011 line-up for Ducati that includes new models such as the Monster 1100 Evo and 1198SP and updates to existing models such as the 1198, 848 Evo and Monster and Streetfighter ranges.
Öhlins has developed a set of performance forks for the awesome Ducati Diavel to give increased handling capabilities to this already unique ‘muscle bike’.The FGRT 301 ‘Road and Track’ forks have been especially designed with black outer tubes and gold fork sliders to retain the mean and moody look of this 160bhp monster machine, something that reflects the front suspension on the Ducati MotoGP machines. Featuring 48mm forks containing Öhlins NIX 30mm cartridge technology, the new forks offer improved road manners and high performance capabilities for when the pace increases.

From 14 April until 31 May anybody taking a demo ride at any of the official Ducati dealers across the UK will be entered into a draw to win the chance to ride a Ducati at a Ducati track day at Donington Park.* This Nationwide campaign will be available at all 32 dealers who will have a selected range of bikes from across the Ducati range including the incredible new 1199 Panigale. Although the 1199 Panigale is the pinnacle of Sportsbike riding, there is more to the Ducati range than just Superbikes.
