Norman Hyde’s popular sports silencers are now available for the latest Triumph Bonnevilles that are equipped with small front wheels. Updated for 2009, the Bonneville and SE models now feature upswept megaphone silencers, so Norman Hyde has gone back to the drawing board to create suitable sports silencers that will fit these machines.

Although it is named after the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA, where Triumph made attempts on the world motorcycle speed records, the 'Bonnie' enjoyed considerable success on the Isle of Man, where Malcolm Uphill scored his famous victory in the 1969 Senior TT on a factory prepared Bonneville, recording an average lap time of 99.99 mph.

Triumph performance specialist Norman Hyde has updated his popular steering damper to fit the 2009-on ‘small wheel’ Triumph Bonneville models, as well as the SE variant. Designed to inhibit uncontrolled movement of the handlebars, steering dampers are a practical upgrade for motorcycles with relatively narrow front tyres, like the 100/70 R17 type fitted to the current Bonneville’s cast aluminium 7-spoke wheels.

Triumph performance and styling specialist Norman Hyde has given his website a major make-over to coincide with the launch of his 2011 catalogue. Hyde is continually expanding his range of products for post-1999 Bonnevilles, which now covers the cruiser type America and Speedmaster models as well as the Thruxton, Scrambler, T100 and standard machines. Thirty five years since he left his job as a Development Engineer at Triumph to set up his own business, Norman has lost none of his passion for creating items to enhance motorcycles and the glossy A5 brochure now has 10% more pages to cope with new lines.

Triumph performance and styling specialist Norman Hyde has introduced a fork brace for the latest Hinckley-built Bonnevilles fitted with 17" diameter wheels (available from 2009 onwards). Fitting a fork brace not only beefs up the Bonneville's 41mm diameter front forks, but also gives the front end of the British twin a more purposeful appearance. CNC-machined in the UK from solid aluminium alloy, the Hyde fork brace is light, stiff and has a satin finish that blends with the bike's styling.

Triumph performance specialist and sidecar land speed record breaker Norman Hyde is celebrating his part in one of the slowest journies of his long career. Hyde joined members of the Trident and Rocket 3 Owners Club in their bid to ride a 1976 vintage Norton Villiers Triumph Easy Rider moped, built in Birmingham, from John O'Groats to Lands End, to raise money for Help 4 Heroes. At 5.45pm on Friday 1st April 2011 the 50cc machine, which had a peak power of 1.2bhp at 4500 rpm when new, completed its 950 mile journey, having left the far north of Scotland six days earlier.

Norman Hyde has delivered his prototype Harrier Jubilee to its new owner - the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire. Nigel Brown OBE took delivery of the bike outside Peterborough Town Hall, where he had been conducting his duties, still wearing his ceremonial robes. A keen motorcyclist, Nigel supported Norman's plans to build a modern British café racer from its inception. Created to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the original Hyde Harrier and the 50th anniversary of the Triumph Bonneville, the Hyde Harrier Jubilee is the result of a 2-year project by Triumph specialist Norman Hyde and Harris Performance.
