News has just hit my desk of the incredibly sexy looking new gloves by British clothing and armour firm, Knox. The Knox Gloves range is to be unveiled at the 2009 NEC Bike Show in November and December. Initially four models of Knox Hand Armour will be available; the full track specification HANDROID, sports-rider orientated BIOMECH, classically-styled RECON and waterproof ZERO.

Safety is at the core of all Hand Armour and the Biomech features distinctive transparent knuckle and Metapod sections on the back of the hand. Unlike other hard shell knuckle protectors found on gloves, the Biomech contains an impact absorbing honeycomb gel, designed to absorb and spread impact forces away from the wearer’s hand.

Having reviewed last year's breakthrough products from Knox's new Hand Armour range we were really impressed overall by the Handroid and now Knox have added to an already impressive stable by introducing the all new for 2011 Handroid POD. The Pod keeps the same unique exoskeleton system from the original Handroid glove but packages this with a short cuff and remarkably retaining the BOA closure system - the first of its kind in the world. While the looks will no doubt continue to divide opinion between those who like a more subtle glove and the remaining fans of such an outlandish design, we are certain the Handroid Pod will be another massive hit.

Growing popularity and demand for their Scaphoid Protection System has lead British impact protection innovators, Knox, to expanded their range of SPS pads. Commonly fractured in falls, the scaphoid is a small bone that connects the thumb to the wrist. It is notoriously difficult to heal, because it only receives a limited supply of blood.
