Riding a motorcycle in low temperatures is not only uncomfortable, but can be dangerous. A drop in body temperature of just 1-2 degrees centigrade can instigate symptoms of hypothermia and may lead to impaired concentration, coordination and drowsiness – potentially lethal when in charge of a motor vehicle.

Winter temperatures in the UK can drop to -10 °C (14 °F) by night and in the day rarely rise above 15 °C (59 °F), which makes it challenging to stay warm while riding a motorcycle, no matter how many layers are worn. Hands and feet will feel cold more quickly in low temperatures, as the body restricts blood flow from the extremities in order to maintain core temperature. Heated clothing provides a permanent solution. Designed specifically for motorcyclists, KEIS heated apparel uses the latest Encapsulated Element Technology to provide reliable, even heating.

Winter is now in full swing, and for those brave motorcyclists that insist on riding through the dark, cold months, BikeTek has developed a range of superior, state-of-the-art heated clothing. With three different heat settings, it is as simple as the push of a button to maintain an optimum temperature within each garment.
