British impact protection specialists Knox have reacted with surprise to reports in the press about an 'innovative' foldable back protector. Described as "The first and unique back protector bender" by the Italian manufacturers, the Soul Race MF Bender has won the prestigious Italian Young Designer of the Year award for Manuel Franzan of Franzan Design and last year it won Motociclismo magazine's 'Best Innovation for Motorcyclists' award.

French leathers manufacturer Furygan has entered into an exclusive agreement with UK-based impact protection specialists D3O. As a result of the partnership, many of the protective garments in the 2011 Furygan range incorporate the revolutionary D3O soft armour. D3O is a unique patented material that combines enhanced chemistry with product engineering to produce high performance shock absorption and impact protection. Here we have a couple of new products from highly rated protection brand Forcefield and leading us off is the SL1 Action Combo, coupling the Sport Lite 1 back protector with the Action Shirt for total upper body coverage. Next up we have the SL001 Super Lite Back Protector Insert which offers CE level 1 protection using their usual Nitrex material which offers repeat performance rather than a single impact, finally the Pro Back Inserts have been nipped and tucked to make them more appealing and still offer CE level 2 protection which is the highest level currently achievable.
