Ninja styling but really toasty even in the bitterest winter Ninja styling but really toasty even in the bitterest winter Knox

Part of the Softshell insulating base layer collection, Cold Killers Hot Hood, Maxi Tube and Mini Tube are designed to help keep the face and neck warm and dry whatever the weather. All feature a unique three-ply windproof, waterproof and insulating laminate construction, which works to prevent wind chill, allows warm air to circulate around the skin, and helps prevent water ingress. The Hot Hood and Mini Tube retail for £16.99 each while the Maxi Tube, which has an extended chest area too, sells for £19.99.

Riding at just 30mph in an ambient air temperature of 5ºC, wind chill pushes the temperature down below freezing. Exposing skin to this is not only uncomfortable, it can also result in painful conditions like frostnip, chilblains and in extreme cases frostbite. Left exposed in the gap between helmet and jacket, the face, head and neck are particularly vulnerable.

Cold Killers Hot Hood, Maxi Tube and Mini Tube plug this gap. Their three-layer laminate construction features a tightly woven stretch fabric on the outside, a laminated membrane in the middle, and 3-D fleece liner. These three layers work together to combat cold in three ways: reducing the effect of wind chill, allowing warm air to circulate around the skin, (which reduces the overheat/chill-down cycle associated with conventional layering), and helping to prevent water ingress.

Cold Killers Softshell is also extremely thin and flexible, eliminating the need for extra layering, allowing freedom of movement, and ensuring there are no ‘tight spots’ to restrict circulation. Flat seems and stretch panels are used throughout for a comfortable fit and like all Softshell garments, the Hot Hood, Maxi Tube and Mini Tube are fully machine washable to help ensure season-long protection, comfort and hygiene.

For detailed information on each product and the entire range of Cold Killers Softshell garments, call Planet Knox on 01900 825825, or visit coldkillers.co.uk.
