Get your textiles back to waterproof with the range of waterproofing agents Get your textiles back to waterproof with the range of waterproofing agents sDoc100

SDoc100 Technical Fabric Wash and Textile Waterproofing Agent are cost-effective and easy ways to help restore the performance of waterproof and breathable clothing. The Fabric Wash cleans and helps maintain the breathability of technical membranes, while the Textile Waterproofing Agent helps reviltalise water resistance. Bought together the Wash and Proofer cost less than £30 – much cheaper than replacing a tired garment.

Most waterproof and breathable fabrics, like GORE-TEX®, are designed with two active layers, which work together to help keep the wearer dry. The inner layer is designed with pores, just like skin. Each pore is approximately 1/20,000 the size of a water droplet, making it impenetrable to water but allowing vapour to pass through. The outer layer is also treated with a water repellent, which causes rain to ‘bead-up’ and roll off instead of being absorbed.

Over time, dirt and perspiration blocks the pores of the inner layer, reducing its breathability and allowing the build-up of moisture inside the shell. In addition, regular wear and tear, and exposure to dirt, harsh detergents, and other impurities wears the water repellent layer, reducing the beading effect and allowing ‘wet-out’ – saturation of the outer fabric.

SDoc100’s two-stage treatment helps restore both breathability and waterproofing. The Technical Fabric Wash is formulated to remove dirt and contaminants from the inner layer’s pores, helping to restore breathability.  It’s developed to be tough on dirt, but mild on fabrics, so it won’t damage the outer repellency treatment like some ‘normal’ detergents can.

It also helps prepare the fabric for SDoc100 Textile Waterproofing Agent. Quick and easy to apply, it does what it says on the tin; helping to re-proof garments that have lost their water resistance or even waterproof those that never had it. It also helps protect against UV bleaching

SDoc100 Technical Fabric Wash, and Textile Waterproofing Agent are safe and suitable to use on most technical climate membranes, and are available at an RRP of £12.99 and £15.34 (including VAT) respectively.
