Q8Oils supported Ryan Farquhar enjoyed a “fantastic week” on the Isle of Man, bringing home four wins and a second at the Southern 100 races. Fighting off stiff competition from top riders including Guy Martin, Conor Cummins, Michael Dunlop and Ian Lougher, Farquhar was in top form around the 4.25-mile circuit, riding the KMR Kawasaki to victory in both Superbike races and the two Supersport races whilst finishing a close second in the feature Championship race.
In terms of motorcycle racing, the Isle of Man is just about top of the tree when it comes to sustained punishment of man and machine. Riding on closed public roads around the 37 ¾ mile course, riders encounter all manner of conditions from overhanging trees, stone walls and even jumps over bridges. Man and machine against the elements, the ultimate test and one which Kawasaki won in 1984 with the very first Ninja, the GPZ900R.
Entered into the production race in its debut year by Plymouth dealership GT Motorcycles, the GPZ900R had only just been launched in America as the Ninja.
