British impact protection specialists Planet-Knox have had their innovative Scaphoid Protection System recognised and protected with the granting of a patent (EPO 1594378). Knox SPS is unique, in that it combines a protective pad on the scaphoid with a second protective pad over lower metacarpals, and it is this technology that is covered by the patent. This is the secret to the success of the system - there must be two pads so that the hand slides when it hits the ground, eliminating the grab effect of leather during an accident.
British Superbike title contender James Ellison has chosen innovative Knox Hand Armour to help his bid for the 2010 crown. The 29 year-old Cumbrian rider has used Knox back protectors throughout his superbike and MotoGP career, and will be wearing Knox Handroid to help keep his 2010 campaign - with the Swan Honda team – on track this season.
Knox have released a video to help riders fully understand the innovative OutDry® technology used to make their new Zero gloves waterproof. Traditionally motorcycle gloves are made waterproof by inserting a membrane between the outer shell and inner lining; the OutDry® system is based on a patented lamination process that bonds the waterproof and breathable membrane directly to the glove's shell, creating a unique body which seals the stitching and any other potential water entry point.

Re-engineered as part of the KNX-ST3 program of continuous innovation and development, Knox Recon leisure/touring gloves now feature an improved ventilated knuckle protector and a fresh Black/White colour option. Already well ventilated, with perforated leather panels between the fingers supplemented with vented sliders on top of each finger, for summer 2011 the Recon gets extra ventilation in the knuckle protector, to help cool air circulate through the whole glove.  Unlike other ‘hard shell’ protectors the Recon contains a visible impact absorbing honeycomb gel.
