Feridax, the UK’s largest independent distributor and brand marketer into the motorcycle clothing and hard parts channels, have confirmed their proud support for ‘The Great Escape 2’ charity ride, and will be supplying the new SHOEI QWEST helmets for all nine participating riders. ‘The Great Escape 2’ will see the riders travel some 3,000 miles across Europe over the course of two weeks, starting on the 4th June. The aim is to acknowledge and remember all prisoners of war during the Second World War whilst raising much-needed funding for the UK’s more recent heroes who have been engaged in conflicts in the Middle East and beyond.
Road racing legend Guy Martin wants everyone to support The Big Brew and have a cuppa over the weekend of 6-8 May 2011 to raise money for Spinal Research. The charity, which aims to restore function to paralysed people, has a campaign especially for motorcyclists called Ride Out. Motorcyclists are just one vulnerable group who may suffer paralysis and the campaign allows people who are passionate about motorcycling to give something back. Motorcycle dealers, bike groups and individuals are holding their own Big Brew events and will raise money for Spinal Research with the great British favourite – a cup of tea!
Charity organisers Giveacar are not only arranging for a unique method of being able to donate to your favourite charities but have recently expanded into accepting motorcycles as donations to the cause, the scheme which takes your old, unwanted vehicles, checks them through to either be sent to auction or to the scrap yard and then uses the proceeds to pay into the charity you choose is a great idea and to take away the hassle of doing it all they even collect your vehicle too!
So then Rossi fans, how much would you love to get your hands on an 1198 ridden by the man himself? Well the very bike he used on his jaunt around Silverstone could be in your hands very soon as Ducati are putting it up for auction in aid of Riders for Health.  The 1198 has been signed by Valentino and will be put up for sale at Silverstone Auctions on Saturday 11th June - if you want to own a fantastic piece of Rossi memorabilia and already have all his cups, leathers, lids and tshirts - treat yourself to a new bike - but we bet it won't be cheap!

Supporters of the Viva Valencia fundraising campaign will now be able to track MotoGP presenter Matt Roberts, actor Danny John Jules and motorcycle dealership owner Steve Keys when they set off on their bike trip in support of Riders for Health on Sunday 30th October. The ‘three amigos’ will attempt to ride to the final round of the 2011 MotoGP season in Valencia, Spain in aid of Riders for Health and security specialist Bike Trac has agreed to fit tracking devices to the machines to enable supporters to keep an eye on their progress.

Andrew Gordon’s amazing round-Britain charity ride on Avon Tyres has raised more than £11,000 for The Royal Marsden Hospital. Gordon – a sufferer of Neuroendocrine cancer – bravely undertook the 4,800-mile journey during August and September of 2011 on a Honda XLV1000 Varadero shod with Avon Distanzia tyres. He rode through England, Wales and Scotland on a journey that began and ended in Portsmouth. Gordon says, “It was a love of motorcycling that has helped me through the tough times and this trip was so memorable for many different reasons.
