Dainese announces its sponsorship of English rider Leon Haslam for the 2011 season. Haslam, who is racing in the Superbike World Championship with the BMW Motorrad Motorsport Team, attended recent pre-season tests at Eastern Creek in Australia. Wearing his new Dainese suit, boots, gloves and protections - sponsorship neck-to-toe - aboard his BMW S1000RR. Just as for all the other riders sponsored by Dainese, Haslam's suit will be fitted with the D-air system.
Ducati, having participated with a factory team in every edition of the World Superbike Championship since it began in 1988, winning 16 Manufacturers’ world titles and 13 Riders’ world titles along the way, has decided to limit its participation to the supply of machines and support to private teams. “This decision is part of a specific strategy made by Ducati, the aim being to further increase technological content in production models that will arrive on the market in the coming years.
Some of the greatest names and most exotic machinery in Yamaha's history will be on the Isle of Man for this year's Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy courtesy of the Dutch based Yamaha Classic Racing Team. The international team, which includes multiple TT Race winners and World Champions, will be performing a parade lap as part of the legendary Japanese manufacturer's 50th anniversary, which is appropriately also the 100th anniversary that racing has taken place around the famous 37¾-mile Mountain Circuit.

As the 2011 race season gets underway with the World Superbike Championship opener in Australia this weekend, leathers manufacturer Furygan announces its support for some of the UK’s most promising talent. Reigning British Supersport champion Sam Lowes will make his debut on the world stage at Philip Island clad in Furygan leathers as the 20-year-old Brit contests the 2011 World Supersport Championship. Last year’s British Superbike title contender Michael Laverty will spearhead the Yamaha campaign in the eagerly anticipated 2011 championship protected by Furygan.
R&G Racing, the world’s number one manufacturer of motorcycle crash protection, has extended its sponsorship deal with the Samsung Crescent Suzuki British Superbike team. The British firm, the only crash protection provider to be recognised for discounts by insurance companies, invests heavily into racing each year to support the industry it loves and to aid with research and development of its products. The agreement with Samsung Crescent Racing in 2011 is the continuation of a successful partnership that narrowly missed out on the British Superbike championship under the guise of Worx Crescent Suzuki with Tommy Hill in 2010.

Marco Simoncelli will be visiting Dainese’s flagship D-Store on Saturday 16 April as part of a whistle-stop tour of European stores before the third round at Estoril at the end of the month. The former 250cc champion will be at the Manchester store between 16:00 – 18:00 to meet and greet his UK fans. Known for his big hair, Simoncelli finished the first race of 2011 in Qatar in fifth position – ahead of other Dainese stars Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden. During the second race at Jerez last weekend, Simoncelli was leading before slipping off in the tricky conditions.
The recent announcement that Moto Rapido Racing has signed up Jamie Poole to contest the 2011 Ducati 848 Challenge the provisional grid is now up to 22 riders, with still almost three months still to go before the first round. Clearly the Ducati 848 Challenge has captured the imagination of many riders and teams over the winter months as much for its unique combination of UK and overseas rounds as being an official support series for British Superbikes.
