Farquhar wins four more at southern 100

Q8Oils supported Ryan Farquhar enjoyed a “fantastic week” on the Isle of Man, bringing home four wins and a second at the Southern 100 races.  Fighting off stiff competition from top riders including Guy Martin, Conor Cummins, Michael Dunlop and Ian Lougher, Farquhar was in top form around the 4.25-mile circuit, riding the KMR Kawasaki to victory in both Superbike races and the two Supersport races whilst finishing a close second in the feature Championship race.

Ryan fought a race long duel with Guy Martin and Conor Cummins in the opening Superbike race on Tuesday evening, lapping in excess of 112mph on the 1000cc Kawasaki and crossing the line three tenths of a second ahead of second placed Guy Martin on the Hydrex Honda. The following evening Ryan battled with Michael Dunlop and Ian Lougher in the first 600cc race, taking the win by 0.047s ahead of Dunlop and Lougher.  Next up was the second Superbike race, which saw a repeat performance of Ryan’s earlier contest with Guy Martin and Manxman Conor Cummins. Ryan passed Martin at Cross Four Ways on the last lap to take his third win in a row.

On the final day of racing Ryan led the second Supersport 600cc race from start to finish on his Q8Oils lubricated Kawasaki, setting a new lap record of 108.728mph in the process.  Then, in the climactic feature Southern 100 Championship race, the thousands of spectators watched the closest racing of the week, with Farquhar, Martin, Cummins and Dunlop trading places on each and every lap. In spite of setting the fastest lap of the race at 112.169mph, Ryan was pipped to the post by Guy Martin, with just three quarters of a second separating the first four riders. Speaking after an extremely happy Ryan said: "As always, special thanks to all my loyal sponsors for making it all possible - it's been a fantastic week."

His four wins on The Island bring Ryan’s total number of wins this season to 37 and he now heads to Southern Ireland once more for the Kells Road Races.
