Avon Tyres YZF-R6 gets extra tasty and is on display at Speedycom's stand

As part of Avon Tyres 100th anniversary of motorcycle tyre manufacture a special one-off showbike has been on display around the UK during 2011. To round off the year the bike will be on the Speedycom Performance Ltd stand (R605, Hall 3a) at Motorcycle Live at the NEC 19-27 November. The Yamaha YZF-R6 has been treated to a list of mouth-watering aftermarket parts, which include: EK chain and sprocket kit, MIVV exhaust, Pazzo levers, HEL brake lines, R&G Racing tail tidy, flush-fit diamond indicators and integrated rear indicators, BONAMICI rear set footpegs, double-bubble screen, carbon fibre rear hugger, front fender and Techspec Gripster Tank Pads.
These parts were kindly supplied by www.speedycom.co.uk and Direct Distribution while Morse’s Motorcycles Yamaha from Weston-super-Mare supplied the bike itself. In addition, the bike will provide visitors to the Motorcycle Live show a first look at Avon’s new 3D Ultra Supersport tyres part of a new 2012 range. Avon’s UK sales Manager Gary Bretherton says, “We wanted to have a machine which truly reflected the modern edge of Avon Tyres and its products and the Yamaha YZF-R6 really fits the bill.
The bike itself is fitted with a number of go-faster goodies and of course Avon’s new 3D Ultra tyres. We have used the bike in posters and other promotional literature quite literally ‘reflecting’ a classic motorcycle from an earlier era. This shows both the proud history of Avon Tyres along with the cutting-edge product that our customers rely on to this day.” Gary will be attending the Motorcycle Live event on the first weekend (19th-20th Novemeber) and will be available to discuss the new Avon range.
The machine is also embellished with the Avon Tyres Centenary logo across its flanks and completed by Avon Tyres’ own new 3D Ultra radials. Avon Tyres is celebrating its centenary of making motorcycle tyres this year. It is currently the only manufacturer of road-going motorcycle tyres based in the UK. Over the last century, famous motorcycle racers such as Geoff Duke, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Barry Sheene have raced and won on Avon Tyres.
The firm has won 13 Supersport and four Production class championships on two wheels as well as Isle of Man TT victories on both three and two wheels.
