Two new Harley dealers open their doors

Two more places you can go and see the 2012 range of Harley's Two more places you can go and see the 2012 range of Harley's Harley Davidson

A glittering firework-fuelled celebration will mark the first of two new Harley-Davidson dealer showrooms next weekend as the legendary Motor Company adds to its UK network. The Stratstone group, which already has two Harley dealerships in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, will strengthen its hold on the Midlands with the official opening of Stoke Harley-Davidson on Friday 4 November. One day later, bonfire night will be marked by the official launch of Maidstone Harley-Davidson by Laguna motorcycles – a family-run company with a strong heritage of successfully owning and operating showrooms for prestige motorcycle brands in the Kent region.

Both purpose-built showrooms demonstrate a substantial investment in their local regions leading to the creation of several new jobs. The double opening weekend also signifies the strong proposition that Harley-Davidson still presents in the UK for both new and existing dealers.

Riders and enthusiasts will be welcomed by both dealers for a weekend of celebrations to give them the opportunity to see the new showrooms, meet the teams and find out more about the 2012 Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, parts and accessories. There will be a showcase of the new model year over the weekend, with ample opportunities to book a test ride on your own dream machine.

Stoke and Maidstone have strong teams of people in place who ride Harleys or have done in the past and have experience of working with the brand. Dealer Principals David Kennedy of Stoke and Andy Card of Maidstone both believe that the knowledge and advice that their teams can provide will be the key to future success.

“Almost all of us who work here ride Harleys or have done in the past – we come to work on our bikes, we’re out there rain or shine, so we understand our customers’ passion.” says Andy. “There’s a lot to be excited about. The dealership itself really looks like nothing else – there are some incredible design touches. It’s built from reclaimed brick, we’ve got a huge old bread oven set in one wall and a giant safe in another; it really does look fantastic. Having a whole floor dedicated to clothing is a great feature too, because we’ve got people who specialise in things like helmet fittings and safety equipment.

“The opening of the dealership is particularly good news given the current state of the economy – Maidstone is an area which has suffered, but this project is all about investment and new jobs. Laguna Motorcycles, which owns the dealership, already has a number of very successful showrooms for other luxury motorcycle brands, which have operated for many years. Harley really is the perfect addition to complete the portfolio.”

David adds: ““This is a very exciting time, both for us and for motorcycle riders in the area. The dealership looks fantastic – nothing has been forgotten and it’s really a great building to be in. We’re looking forward to getting to know our customers – we can guarantee we’ll always have a fantastic range of bikes and be on-hand to offer friendly advice.

“The launch will be a great event and we hope to welcome as many people as possible – it will be a very family-friendly feel and the ideal opportunity to come and check out the bikes and get to know the staff.”
