As the 2011 race season gets underway with the World Superbike Championship opener in Australia this weekend, leathers manufacturer Furygan announces its support for some of the UK’s most promising talent. Reigning British Supersport champion Sam Lowes will make his debut on the world stage at Philip Island clad in Furygan leathers as the 20-year-old Brit contests the 2011 World Supersport Championship. Last year’s British Superbike title contender Michael Laverty will spearhead the Yamaha campaign in the eagerly anticipated 2011 championship protected by Furygan.
The Ulsterman will line up for the first race of the season at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday. Laverty will be joined on the grid by fellow Furygan-supported British riders Michael Rutter and Martin Jessop and BSB rookies James Westmoreland and Alex Lowes. Irish sensation Ryan Farquhar will wear Furygan for his assault on the roads. The French company will also back a whole host of stars from its own country, including World Superbike contender Sylvain Guintoli, who now lives in the UK having adopted Leicestershire as his home.

Guintoli is currently taking part in an SBK test at Philip Island, where he secured the second fastest time yesterday. Frenchman Florian Marino will join Sam Lowes in World Supersport protected by Furygan. 2010 World Endurance Champion and French Superbike star Freddy Foray and his twin brother Kenny will continue to wear Furygan for the 2011 season. Johann Zarco will represent the brand in the MotoGP paddock as he contests in the 125cc world championship. Jean-Marc Autheman, Furygan “We are extremely proud to continue our racing support in 2011 with such a talented group of stars. I’d like to wish the World Superbike and Supersport racers luck for this weekend’s opening round. We have high hopes for the season and cannot wait to start seeing the results coming in.”

Sam Lowes, World Supersport Championship “It’s an honour to be supported by Furygan as I make the move into the World Supersport Championship. It’s a big step for me and I need to be completely confident in the kit. With Furygan I know I am getting the best quality leathers possible.”
