California Superbike School has teamed up with Scottoiler and fitted all hire and coach bikes with the British company’s eSystem automatic chain oiler. Scottoiler has a proven track record in extending chain life and reducing maintenance for commuters and touring riders, so California Superbike School commenced testing earlier this year to see whether they would experience similar benefits on track.
“The new eSystem really does bring the idea of chain-lubing into the present and beyond” says school director Andy Ibbott. “It’s great to have them on all of our bikes, as it reduces mess and we can adjust them to suit the weather conditions”. Coaches at the California Superbike School ride 182 bhp Yamaha R1 superbikes at premier British circuits, like Silverstone and Brands Hatch, as well as overseas in Ireland, Spain and beyond, so any accessory that extends chain life and reduces maintenance intervals is welcome, as riding coach Andy Peck explains. “This new Scottoiler 'e' system is almost too easy to fit.

The built-in accelerometer senses when the bike is moving so the unit not only switches itself on and off but it also shows on the dash display how hard you are accelerating! Oh, and the chain is lubricated to perfection without me having to get on my knees with an aerosol can! Thoroughly recommended!” Meanwhile the School’s fleet of R6 supersport hire bikes is kept equally busy and drive chains take a lot of punishment as pupils get to grips with the art of cornering. Designed as the ultimate chain lube system for sports bikes, the Scottoiler eSystem only requires a connection to the battery terminals for power, so it is easy to install.

Not only does it significantly reduce chain and sprocket wear but it also cushions the transmission making the throttle response smoother and by reducing friction in the chain it improves performance at the rear wheel too. “We’re really pleased that California Superbike School are using eSystems on their fleet of bikes” says Nick Muddle of Scottoiler. “With the number of track miles they’re doing each year the kits are sure to save them lots of time and money whilst improving the bikes for all who use them.”
