GB Racing wins FIM Approval

FIM Approval for protection covers FIM Approval for protection covers GB Racing
GBRACING’S British-made motorcycle protection products have helped numerous teams win Championships and now the already MCRCB-approved protective engine covers have won the first ever FIM approval for the next three-years, giving them the highest stamp of approval available in motorcycling.
The low-cost super-tough nylon-based crankcase protective generator, clutch and timing covers are designed to protect the motorcycle in a crash and prevent expensive damage such as holes in casings and oil spillage on road or track. A holed engine can result in a complete rebuild but the GBRacing protection minimises the chance of this happening, saving the rider money.   GBRacing’s Graham Banks said: “To win FIM approval proves our protection really is the best and does save engines in crashes, whether on the road or track. This accolade is added to the MCRCB approval that GBRacing already has.

I am proud of our British-made and engineered products - and that we can sell them at low cost, so any production bike riders can use and benefit from them.”   GBRacing has developed and manufactures using some of the most advanced engineering materials available – super tough and protective injection moulded grade, composite, high impact 60 per cent long glass filled nylon 6.6 is used in all its products.    The covers bolt directly over existing stock casings; they come supplied with replacement bolts and pre-assembled stainless steel spacer bushes, ensuring the correct bolt torque can be achieved - an essential requirement. The injection moulding process greatly reduces material stress, (that can lead to product failure) unlike other thermoplastic manufacturing processes.

GBRacing designs with graduated moulded wall thicknesses, varying from 2 mm - 8 mm to save unnecessary weight and enable sufficient ground clearance whilst maximising thickness protection where needed most.   GBRacing protection comes in a wide range of fitments covering most modern sportsbikes including Suzuki’s GSX-R range, Yamaha’s R1 and R6, Honda’s CBR range, Kawasaki’s ZX range, KTM’s RC8, BMW S1000RR and Triumph’s 675 plus many more.

GBRacing bike protection is used by  HM Plant Honda, MSS Kawasaki, Motorpoint Yamaha, Relentless Suzuki by Tas, Jentin Racing, Team Kawasaki Provec Motocard, Parkalgar Honda ParkinGo Supersport & European Series, Team Suzuki Alstare, Yamaha France GMT94 IPONE and is a partner to the Thundersport GB organisation. Products have also been used by John McGuinness and Michael Dunlop at the Isle of Man TT races.   As well as secondary engine covers, GBRacing manufactures frame sliders, crash bobbins and paddock stand bobbins. Prices on engine covers start at just £38 including vat, and typically all three engine covers for a modern sportsbike will cost less than £170 but is dependent on model.
