Honda announces Montesa Distribution

Written by
Pidcocks are named as the Montesa Dealership Pidcocks are named as the Montesa Dealership Honda UK
Honda (UK) has become the official UK importer and distributor for the Honda owned and world-renowned Montesa trials bike brand and, has appointed the reputable Pidcock Motorcycles as the country’s sole Montesa dealer. This agreement marks the first time the Montesa brand and products have been under the wing of the manufacturer in the UK, bringing benefit to customers by offering full manufacturer backing.
Pidcock Motorcycles’ strong reputation and established history dates back to 1970, as a family business started by the late Roy Pidcock. With its roots embedded in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas, the business today remains family run by Chris Pidcock from a first-class motorcycle premises in Long Eaton (Nottingham), so is perfectly located to service the trials bike needs of the whole country. Pidcock’s became an official Honda road bike dealer thirteen years ago in 1997, also taking on the Honda off-road franchise three years ago.

With Chris’ passion for trials growing over forty years since he first rode a trials bike at the age of twelve, he jumped at the chance to become the Montesa dealer when the opportunity arose. Montesa trials bikes are world-renowned for their quality and performance, with indoor and outdoor World Motorcycle Trials Champion, Toni Bou, taking multiple titles on Montesa machines. There are three models in the range, with the stripped down racing version available for £6295, the standard 4RT available for £6495 and the stunning Toni Bou Repsol paint scheme replica priced at just £6995. A de-restriction kit for bikes intended for competition use is further available at £215. Honda (UK) Motorcycles’ General Manager, Steve Martindale commented, “Honda (UK) is very happy to have become the official distributor in the UK for the Montesa brand and to now offer Honda’s complete range of motorcycles under one banner.

Chris and the Pidcock’s team now have a business that encompasses the full range of Honda two-wheel machines and he couldn’t be better placed, either in location or experience, passion and knowledge about trials, to serve the UK market.” Chris Pidcock said, “It’s a great opportunity and privilege to be appointed as the sole Montesa dealer for the UK and I’m excited to have the opportunity to bring Honda back into the trials world, which is where I started my motorcycling career forty years ago. Just like off-roading, trials is another great way to introduce newcomers to bikes and I’m looking forward to getting to know Montesa’s current loyal customers, as well as introducing new customers to these fantastic machines and trials generally.”
