Enter the National Road Rally

Written by
Get yourself in for the National Road Rally and help a charity Get yourself in for the National Road Rally and help a charity National Road Rally
Get on your bike and enter the Express Insurance National Rally IF you want a reason to dust down your road bike and cover some serious miles along the best roads in Britain with more than 1000 like-minded riders then look no further than the 2010 Express Insurance National Rally on the 3rd and 4th of July.
Riders are asked to navigate a self selected route which takes in a set number of controls from over 50 dotted throughout the length and breadth of England and get their rally cards stamped. Early on the Sunday morning most riders finish at the Final Control. There they enjoy the camaraderie and spectacle of up to 1000 tired but elated competitors swapping experiences whilst enjoying a huge well-earned traditional breakfast. The 2010 event is backed by bike sport insurance stalwart Express Insurance.

Many riders will be arranging sponsorship deals with the proceeds going to the Mencap Charity. It is a great way to meet new friends and enjoy riding your bike in the middle of what will hopefully be a great summer and if you so decide, raise money for a good cause at the same time.

There are four ways to enter:
1: The National Daytime Rally, Saturday 3rd July 2010: 10-hours ideal for beginners that don’t want to ride overnight. Start at 1400 and ride a minimum of 200-miles up to 275-miles max with a midnight finish.
2: The National Rally, 3rd-4th July 2010: This is 20-hours and ideal for those who wish to ride overnight with the bronze award for beginners, silver award for experienced, gold award for the more experienced and special gold for very experienced riders.
3: The National Rally Platinum category 3rd-4th July 2010. Special tests plus 20-hours for extremely experienced riders who wish to ride overnight. A special test on Saturday morning is followed by 540-miles of riding with as many controls as possible from 1400 on Saturday.
4: The National Sunrise rally, Sunday 4th July 2010: Six-hours ideal for beginners and those who don’t want to ride overnight but can do an early start at 0400 and ride between 120-180miles.

All rallies end at the final control at MIRA, Nuneaton at 1000 on Sunday 4th July (except the Daytime Rally 1). Rest breaks must be taken. Cost for taking part is £27 by post of £26 online with passengers costing £8 and £7 respectively. The Platinum category costs £36 by post or £35 online with passengers £11 and £10 respectively. Teams can enter for free (providing individual entries are paid) and RTA insurance per person riding is £9. The closing date is June 4th 2010 so for more information call Alison on 01788-566400, e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots.
