‘A TOUTE EPREUVE - new technologies for protecting the human form’ introduces new body protection technology from Dainese. The exhibition makes visitors aware of road safety issues and injury prevention in high-risk sports. Visitors are taken on a journey through time, presented in four parts. It traces the history of protection equipment from the animal model in nature, Renaissance armour, today's intelligent equipment, and finally the research currently taking place into combining innovative technologies and materials.
Visitors can see the development of leather motorcycle racing suits, the now ubiquitous back protector, as well as the innovative 'air-bag' protection. Enthusiasts can see protective equipment worn by racers such as Giacomo Agostini, Kevin Schwantz, Barry Sheene, Eddie Lawson, Carl Fogarty, Freddie Spencer, Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi, who have all been protected by Dainese clothing and, in many cases, AGV helmets. Machines that took Agostini, Auriol and Rossi to world championship victories are also on display. Vittorio Cafaggi, Dainese's corporate communications manager commented: “It is a great honour for Dainese to be invited to take part in this exhibition. We hope that visitors will understand the importance of protecting themselves when taking part in active sports.
Their heroes certainly do and Dainese is keen to promote protection for all!” ‘A TOUTE EPREUVE’ will close on Sunday, 8th August 2010. The Cité des Sciences is situated at 30, avenue Corentin-Cariou, 75019 Paris. The Italian clothing giant, Dainese, presents a history of protection for the human body - from its earliest origins to the most innovative technologies in an all-new exhibition that opened in Paris last week. The 700 sq m exhibition, showing topical non-commercial displays, runs until 8th August 2010 in the stunning Cité des Sciences in north-east Paris, a facility similar to London's Science Museum.
