MCN London Motorcycle Show 2010

Fresh back from this years motorcycle show in London and rested after a very long couple of days I am pleased to report that there is a decent day out to be had - especially if you are a punter looking for a bargain! The main focus in this event does seem to be more trader oriented which is great when so many of you reported high prices at last years NEC and a lack of trade stalls offering a decent range.
No such thing here, in fact if you are expecting a raft of manufacturers you may be a little disappointed - as an example both Honda and Yamaha have a presence at the show but both are provided by Dealerships rather than the brand themselves - end result - well for one thing the hotly anticipated VFR1200F is nowhere to be found, a few of you have mentioned that you would like to see it in the flesh so not taking it to a show like this is a bit of a booboo if you ask me.

With any show like this there are going to be things you want to see and others you do not, fortunately though there is a good balance between all the areas of motorcycling that will offer a nice variation throughout the day - I actually found myself trying on a load of cruisers for size which goes against my sportbike disposition but hey what the hell right? You have Aprilia and BMW with nice new models that seemed to attract a lot of visitors, Triumph's street triple always seemed to have someone on its back and it was nice to see a decent range from kawasaki too. One thing that did confuse us was the second arena for the Supercross events, we only really registered after we had left that we had not stopped in and did not really notice any signs point out where and when the shows were due to start, we later found out that it is over near the food area (perhaps we were a little distracted by the MCN Babe of the Year stuff happening on the stage)

All in all though, the show is worth a look around if you are trying to bag a bargain or two prior to the new riding season, plenty of kit is on sale at reduced prices and with plenty to choose from you can afford to spend the day chatting and haggling your way through them all, tickets to the show cost £18 on the door for an adult and food prices are actually not too bad (for London anyway) so get there early on and get your money's worth.
