Bikechatters top 3 brands to watch!

Stunning leather range from Lindstrands Stunning leather range from Lindstrands Bikechatter
While trawling the show we can across a few brands that are just establishing themselves in the UK and three of those really captured our imagination with their ethos, innovation or just plain good sense when it comes to their products, read on and find out more.
First up we have the combined brands under the Jofama company, consisting of Halvarssons, Lindstrands and Jofama. They have an impressive stand set out with all 3 brands products to showcase the design and styling of their products, first up it is refreshing to see a company that clearly has a fun approach and does not try and take itself too seriously, speaking to their national sales manager it became apparent that function and safety is their number one concern followed by fit and styling with the basis that "if something feels and looks good you feel safer and enjoy the ride more" very true indeed in these times where overpriced and badly fitting products are easy to come across.

Looking through their product range you cant help but notice the little details that make the biggest difference, well engineered seams and pockets along with fully removable membranes AND thermal layers which believe me is a hard task to find these days - if you have never had a set of textiles with fully removable layers you would not believe the difference it can make.

Next we have to mention Scorpion Exo which has been slowly gaining popularity in the UK and has been around stateside for a few years now and is actually one of the top selling brands. We have reviewed their top spec Scorpion Exo 1000 helmet already and were impressed with its combination of fit and gadgetry but browsing through their stand at the show the entire range showed us that innovation is very much the order of the day, first of all take a look at the graphics on offer - from loud and brash to more minimal and stylish there is a design to suit everyone and using foils, metallics and a full compliment of up to the minute paint effects the end result is stunning.

If you have a chance go and ask to see the Exo 700 helmet and winter visor systems, this really caught our eye and although the heated visor seems a little over the top it is nevertheless a cracking idea that is pushing boundaries just a touch further. They have double glazed visors that convert the standard looking helmet into something more like a snowmobile lid, some of the range features the Airfit feature which inflates the areas around the padding for a custom fit on the fly - in this range is the new helmet from Scorpion Exo, the Exo 900 'transform' is a full face/flip front with a difference in that simply removing the visor you remove the flip front and replace it with a peak for a transformation into an open face lid.

Last but not least we are going to mention Hit Air which is a new brand distributed by the good people who bring us Draggin Jeans. Hit Air is an airbag jacket that actually works without adding masses of weight and bulk associated with some of the early offerings from rival brands, using a simple air cartridge and pull cord if you leave the motorcycle for any reason it deploys the air into the pockets around the inside and neck/shoulder areas. Some people may not see the point and the technology does add to the cost of the garments but for those looking for ultimate safety we are sure that the Hit Air jackets will be very popular.
