A superb jacket for all seasons. Beautifully cut, great value for money and easily the most functional jacket I have had the opportunity to review. Ideal for both touring and everyday use.

All Season Textile Jacket

Initial Thoughts

Already very excited from opening the matching trousers I immediately loved the appearance of this top spec jacket. It is ¾ length and zips to the trousers. This is a jacket of many layers and many pockets! Ideal for touring as performs brilliantly in all weathers. The Lily Jacket has 3 layers all of which zip together so no rough Velcro between layers. It is fully waterproof tried and tested, it then has a mesh layer, a waterproof one and a thermo layer, it has air vents on the arms which work brilliantly but although advertised doesn't seem to have any on the chest just extra pockets which are useful but don't keep you cool, this is the only thing which I could think of which would be an added benefit to this excellent jacket. It has more than enough pockets to keep anything you need on you securely and comfortably, the only issue is remembering which one you put things in!

The armour sits where it should on the shoulders and elbows and doesn't move around. Best of all its very stylish and adjustable at the waist and arms so fits beautifully. It is also easy to fasten over gloves as is a simple Velcro patch on the cuff. You can tell from the craftsmanship that a lot of thought has been put into this jackets appearance and functionality.

Construction

The Macna Lily Jacket is constructed from Ballistic, C-Touch and R-Tech Materials. It is a Fully Waterproof Textile 3/4 Length Jacket. It can be adjusted with poppers on the arms and waist adjustment bands to make it fit to the contours of your figure.

It has Spacetec Mesh Air Vents in either sleeve Sleeve but not the Chest allowing ventilation when needed and insulation when closed.

There are 7 pockets in total all of which are water resistant. The first of these are positioned either side of the chest, the one on the right is larger than the one on the left and these zip externally and are an alternative to inside pockets which are great as you don't need to unzip your jacket to reach the things inside. There is one internal pocket but its positioned near the waist on the left which is just the right size for a passport, phone or purse. Finally there are also 2 pockets either side positioned on the hip the top one fastens with Velcro, and the other pocket is an open pocket which sits behind this.

The Macna Lily jacket has a 3 layered system. The external layer is made up of a Waterproof outer shell and fixed mesh lining. This lining houses CE armour at the elbow and shoulder in Velcro pockets and a CE back protector instead of a foam plate in a zipped pocket. The external layer zips from waist to throat and has a flap and 5 poppers with Velcro in-between to fasten this closed, It also has Velcro to fasten at the neck and a soft collar for added comfort.

Zipped into this at the cuffs and around the torso is the waterproof membrane. Adding this makes the jacket completely wind proof and waterproof, even in a heavy down poor the jacket may get wet but you will not. This also zips closed from waist to throat behind the external layers zip. Then for really chilly conditions there is a thermal layer which can also be zipped in. Both the waterproof and external layers can be zipped to trousers.

The Jacket has heat transferred reflective panels which spada name their Side-Eye system. These panels can be found on either side of the top of the chest and on both arms, also on larger panels either side of the waist and on the back of the jacket too.

The Macna Lily Jacket is Spada Vision Vest Prepared. This is a high visability yellow neon vest which zips to the back on the jacket and fastens through the buckles on the front of the jacket. This is sold separately.

The Macna Lily jacket is available in 4 colour combinations in 5 sizes XS (UK8) to XL (UK16)

Conclusion

Stylish, very comfortable and affordable. Loads of pockets and ideal for all seasons thanks to its many layers and ventilation. Brilliant for touring and loads of protection from the rain and wind. A great all round textile jacket I hope to wear again and again.

I really enjoy wearing this jacket, the only tiny niggle is the lack of ventilation but honestly I didn't really overheat even without this so for me this would not be a reason not to buy.

I believe a lot of thought has been put into this jacket and its quality shines through. This is the best all seasons textile I have had the pleasure to wear.

arc-on Evolution Leather Suit and Gloves

Over at arc-on the previous seasons suits have seen a redesign and launch in the form of the Evolution suit, available in one or two piece formats, and the new Evolution glove to match. Previous years experience in racing have given them a decent spec sheet to sing from, even if you name is not one that you have seen before, considering that a load.
